Large-Scale Commercial Masonry | Minimum 5 Years Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Masonry Project Foreman to oversee field operations on large-scale commercial masonry projects, including multi-story buildings, institutional facilities, and high-profile commercial developments.[1][2] This role is responsible for leading crews, coordinating with the project team, and ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.[3][4]

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise masonry crews performing block, brick, stone, and associated masonry systems on commercial projects.[5][1][2]
Plan and sequence daily and weekly work activities to meet project schedules, milestones, and contract requirements.[4][6]
Interpret and build from construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.[1]
Coordinate manpower, equipment, scaffolding, and material deliveries with project managers, superintendents, and other trades.[1][2]
Enforce all company and OSHA safety policies, conduct daily jobsite safety walks, and address unsafe conditions immediately.[6][7]
Monitor quality of layout, coursing, joints, reinforcement, embeds, flashing, and waterproofing to meet project standards and inspection requirements.[1][3]
Maintain daily reports, crew timesheets, quantities, and progress tracking for production and job cost control.[3][4]
Train, mentor, and evaluate masons, tenders, and apprentices to build a strong, efficient field team.[3][8]
Communicate clearly with the GC, inspectors, and internal project team regarding progress, constraints, and required changes.[3][2]
Support project closeout activities, including punch list completion and warranty items as needed.[3]

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Masonry Foreman or Lead in large-scale commercial masonry (schools, medical, industrial, sports, or similar projects).[1][8][2]
Proven ability to supervise masonry crews of 10–20+ workers on active construction sites.[3][2]
Strong skills in reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings, specs, and layout information.[1]
Demonstrated track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within production targets.[3][4]
Solid understanding of masonry systems, including CMU, brick veneer, reinforced masonry, air/vapor barriers, flashing, lintels, and anchoring.[1][9]
Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and jobsite safety best practices.[7][6]
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as required.[5]

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with complex commercial work such as sports facilities, hospitals, higher education, or multi-building campuses.[1][2]
Experience coordinating with union or multi-crew environments (if applicable to your company/region).[2]
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
Basic proficiency with tablets or smartphones for daily reports, timekeeping, and plan access.[10]
