Large-Scale Commercial Masonry | Minimum 5 Years Experience

Position Overview

EKB Masonry is seeking experienced Commercial Masons to join our growing team. We perform commercial masonry work throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding area, including block, brick, stone, and related masonry scopes.

We are looking for dependable, safety-minded people who take pride in quality workmanship, show up ready to work, and contribute to a productive crew on active commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install CMU block, brick veneer, stone, and related masonry systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
• Perform layout, coursing, jointing, cutting, fitting, and finishing work as directed by the foreman or superintendent.
• Read a tape measure and work from construction drawings, layout marks, elevations, and field instructions.
• Maintain quality workmanship, including proper alignment, plumb, level, bond patterns, joint consistency, and clean finishes.
• Work safely around scaffolding, equipment, material handling operations, and other trades on active commercial jobsites.
• Assist with installation of reinforcing, ties, anchors, flashing, lintels, and other associated masonry components as assigned.
• Coordinate with crew members and foremen to maintain daily production goals and project schedule requirements.
• Keep the work area organized, remove debris, protect completed work, and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Follow all company policies, jobsite rules, and OSHA safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial masonry experience.
• Strong working knowledge of block and brick installation; stone experience is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure and work from plans, layouts, elevations, and foreman direction.
• Demonstrated ability to produce quality masonry work efficiently in a commercial construction environment.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work safely on active commercial construction sites.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, climbing, working from scaffolding, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on large-scale commercial projects, including schools, medical facilities, industrial buildings, multifamily developments, and institutional work.
• Experience with reinforced CMU, brick veneer, flashing, waterproofing, anchors, ties, lintels, and related masonry systems.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a crew environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Experience using jobsite technology, including smartphones or tablets for timekeeping, safety communication, and plan access.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate commensurate with commercial masonry experience and demonstrated skill level.
